This is a blog and an apology...

I’ve been so busy the last few months, whenever I sit down for a minute, my head starts to spin – so I get up and start zipping about again because there is never enough time to get everything done. Between May and September 2016 I trained for and competed in a bodybuilding competition. Also in that time, I moved from London to Cardiff, along with one very hyperactive dog; opened a brand new personal training studio in Cardiff and all the while, was on the toughest diet known to man! By Christmas, I was exhausted – but in a good way. I am most definitely not complaining.

Today, I have full roster of fabulous clients. My average working day starts around 6am and ends around 8pm. I never get to see daylight anymore! I thought this was par for the course when you’re running your own business. I still make time to work out, of course, but last year I noticed my skin had lost its luminosity, and was looking distinctly pallid.

Last September, as though sensing my dimming light, BetterYou were kind enough to send me a treasure trove of their lovely products, including the DLux3000 daily oral vitamin D spray. I hadn’t realised how much I needed this until I began to use it.

It seems I’m not the only one deficient in vitamin D. In fact, the Government has issued new vitamin D guidelines to help ensure we all get our quota. The report says, ‘To ensure that the majority of the UK population has satisfactory vitamin D blood levels throughout the year, in order to protect musculoskeletal health… Adults and children over the age of one should consider taking a daily supplement containing 10mcg of vitamin D, particularly during autumn and winter’.

Apart from aiding energy levels and lowering blood pressure, one of the main attributes of Vitamin D is that it aids the absorption of calcium and promotes bone growth. A deficiency in Vitamin D results in misshapen bones in adults and soft bones in children. So vital is this vitamin in fact, that doctors recommend supplementation for pregnant women.

Oily fish, red meat, liver and egg yolks all contain Vitamin D and you’ll often find cereals infused with it, but if this is your only source, it’s not enough. The best and main source of vitamin D, though, is sunshine. Something those of us living in the UK don’t get enough of. But before you pack up your boxes and move to Florida, the good news is there is lots you can do about it, whatever the weather.

Betterlife’s Vit DLux 3000 has been scientifically proven this vital vitamin direct into your bloodstream, with each spray providing 3000IU (75mcg) of bioavailable D3. Each bottle contains 100 sprays and will last three months when using one spray daily under the tongue or on the inside of the cheek.

I’ve been using it for several months now, and as well as enjoying the peppermint pick-me-up, my hair appears shinier, my skin is brighter and I feel generally peppier. Now, a multitude of things could be aiding this little spring of joy in me (new Reeboks, new food processor, new battle rope…) but I was undoubtedly in need of Vitamin D supplementation and now I’m not. I believe BetterYou works, I’m living, walking, deadlifting proof of it. Check you’re getting your D quota and if you’re not, give this a go
